Dr. Lori was born and raised in Elmont, NY (on Long Island), but has mostly lived in California since 2000. Her days mostly revolve around her senior pup, Minny. She even joins her at the office sometimes!
Lori has always been interested in holistic health and Asian philosophies. After growing up with year-round allergies and falling asleep from the medication in 8th grade Science class (it was the 80s), she decided to look for natural ways to address her symptoms. This was a big step on her choosing her career path that was furthered when she became vegetarian at 19 and needed to make sure she was getting proper nourishment. (Happily vegan now; for the animals!!) She is also a lover of books and vividly remembers a section in Time-Life's Mysteries of the Unknown: Powers of Healing that was about acupuncture.
Chinese Medicine is such an elegant and complete system that incorporates so many different aspects of life. Dr. Lori feels fortunate to practice it and to be able to help others.
Billing & Insurance
Our office and practitioner are Out-of-Network providers with all insurance plans and do not bill any insurance companies directly. All acupuncture treatments must be paid for in advance or at the time of treatment. If you have out of network acupuncture coverage on your insurance plan, awesome! You can submit receipts yourself to your insurance provider for reimbursement, though reimbursement is not guaranteed. Many patients also choose to use their HSA or Flex Spending accounts for Acupuncture sessions. You can either use your FSA / HSA credit card or submit receipts to your FSA/HSA company for reimbursement. If you have Acupuncture benefits through your insurance we are happy to provide you with a superbill for you to easily submit to your insurance for reimbursement. If for some reason these receipts are not accepted, you can request an itemized receipt from us for treatments you have received that includes billing and/or diagnosis codes.
